It's time for me to buy a new notebook and I want to upgrade from XP Pro to Vista. However, I read that there were a lot of issues installing SQL Server 2005 on Vista. On the other hand, those posts were back in 2007; perhaps Microsoft resolved those issues since?
As I look for a new computer, I'd like to get some advice:
Which version of Vista should I get? What should I look for in the way of Hardware requirements? Are there any installation issues I should be aware of (SQL Server)? How about if I want to also run Visual Studio 2003 for maintaining older applications? (*This is not an absolute necessity.) Can anyone recommend a particular notebook for development purposes (preferably reasonably priced)? Thanks.
