To clarify to others, in SEO there are SEVERAL strategies that need to be used together.
In-page strategy is the meta tags, keywords etc. that is actually on your home site. Off-page strategy includes social networking, blogging, and linking. Off-page strategy is certainly growing and will only continue to grow. That is the next major point, these strategies are appropriate for today, but SEO strategies are constantly changing every day.
Years ago everyone was solely focused on in-page strategies, but now there is a shift towards off-page strategies and social media marketing. In conclusion, Alex brought up some good points, but there is a LONG and constantly adapting list of good strategies appropriate for SEO.

well i agree with you . now a days off page seo is more important than on page seo.

well seo strategies changing day by day and it is going more and more competitive now.
in-page seo almost remains same only slight changes but now a days webmasters have to give more emphases on off page seo techniques specially social bookmarking etc
