Dear all,

We are using rational robot for automated testing (old version not functional tester).

Recently while testing 64 bit application, we experienced that rational gets hanged during GUI operations.

Does anyone has experienced this? Is there any workaround / patch available for this?

Also can anyone suggest me which other tool would support 64 bit application? I believe even QTP, Winrunner and Silk are not supporting it.

Regards,

Yes, I had experienced this same behaviour, back then there was no support.

I would recommend you browse ibm support site for rational robot. A quick search listed a couple of fixes that might be useful, check if they help.

Hi,

How will the GUI of 64 bit application is different
then a 32 bit application?

32 bit and 64 bit are concepts at OS level. so if you
hosting your application which is same on 32 bit it
doesn't matter.

We run application both on 32 bit and 64 bit and never
face issues with tools hanging. We use Silk tools.

Thanks

Dear Tan,

There is no change in GUI. Even we don't have to make any changes in our Scripts.

However, while using 64 bit .Net framework (CLR) and recompilation of objects without any GUI changes, running same scripts in rational, robot gets hanged.

If Silk is supporting 64 bit OS then we can look at that for our future planning. However, presently all of our work is halted because of above problem.
